February 19th Member Update Meeting/Illustration Seminar

At our fall 2014 meeting held on November 29th, and in our communication to membership December 12, 2014, we had discussed the scheduling of a “Quarterly Update Meeting” regarding lobbying efforts to be held on January 29th, 2015.

The “Quarterly Update Meeting” will be held Thursday, February 19th, 2015 at the Alden Nowlan House/Grad House on Windsor Street, Fredericton, between 5:30-8:00 PM.

ALSO! Due to the storm last week, our Illustration Seminar hosted by Cora Woolsey has been moved to Saturday February 21, 2015, 10 AM – 4:30 PM, Annex C, UNB Fredericton Campus (see attached poster).

Annual General Membership and Business Meeting

Another Fall is upon us, and another busy field season is winding down for many of our members and colleagues. As such, we are contacting you as a current member, a former member, or an archaeological professional working in, or who formerly worked in, New Brunswick, regarding the date of our upcoming Annual General Meeting at 10:00 am on November 29th, 2014 at Tilley Hall, UNB Campus, Room 224 in Fredericton, NB.

At this meeting we will be discussing and updating our membership on the recent activities and the current initiatives of the Board of Directors/Executive Committee and the Association.

Annual Business Meeting and Public Lectures

The Board of Directors for the APANB-AAPNB would like to invite all current members to our Annual Business Meeting and anyone from the public to a series of lectures to be held Saturday, May 10, 2014 at the Solider’s Barracks building in downtown Fredericton. The tentative schedule has us kicking off the Business Meeting at 10 AM-12 PM and the Public Lectures at 1:30 PM – 4 PM.

Business Meeting

The morning will be a Membership-only session to review updated By-Laws, update on member business, re-enroll current members and invite any new or interested members to join.

We have new proposed membership categories (to be confirmed by vote on May 10) including Members (40$), Associates (30$) and have reduced the price for Student Members to 10$, so it’s a perfect time to join!

Public Lectures

In the afternoon, we’ll be inviting the public to join our Members for a series of 3-4 lectures from local professional archaeologists–topics and abstracts will be released soon!
